Biography:
Mr. Richard Timm Lovins, M.S.E.S.S. is the director of Oak Hammock Fitness/Wellness Programs and University of Florida’s faculty and staff health and fitness program, Living Well. Lovins received his Master of Science in Exercise and Sport Sciences degree from the University of Florida and his Bachelor of Science degree from Kansas State University. Prior to his appointment to the administrative staff of UF, he served as a clinical exercise physiologist and manager of Cardiac Rehabilitation Services, a department of the Heart Institute at JFK Medical Center in Atlantis, Florida.
Lovins has served on the faculties of the American Heart Association (AHA) South Florida Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Conference, the AHA Conference on Women and Heart Disease, and the University of Florida’s Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation Symposium. He has taught undergraduate courses in the Administration of Sport and Exercise Programs, Applied Human Physiology Laboratory, Physical Conditioning, Weight Training, Personal Fitness Teaching Methods, and Physical Fitness.
Lovins currently holds professional certification from the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), and The Institute for Aerobics Research (the Cooper Clinic). He is a member of ACSM and the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR).
